Unleashed Your Potential



How to make ppl realize tht you have the potential to be a leader, to hold bigger responsibilities? Shd you expect the leaders to simple pick & choose or pinpoint without any defined criterion? Of course not. Companies hv already established set of criterion for the potential leaders they want to lead the company in the future. But the question is of course if tht person is you? Some ppl might be so lucky being at the right time and the right place, some ppl hv to work hard for it, some ppl just know how to "suck up" and get away with "murder" and be promoted. Which one is you? Of course you can't choose to be lucky. Do you wanna to "suck up" your bosses? Pls don't...haha. You'll only survive when they are there. Once they move up or out, you might need to start "suck up" all over again, and it might be costly...hehe. My advice is work hard for it, and also don't forget to work smart. Improve your public speaking, presentation skill, understand wht the mgmt needs from you or the organization, learn, practice and implement, and not to forget to click with the leaders themselves. May be you can start slow but clicking with your boss and his click, then after your boss's boss, and so on. Get to know everybody important within te organization and make sure they know and remember you. This is highly important. But pls make sure you hv all the skill first and don't overdo. And the most important advice is, don't step on anybody"s toe while you want to move up. Remember you might need them to help you when you are up there somehow or the other. You might not be able to please everybody but if you manage to capture majority of them would be good. Just be nice to ppl even if they play hard ball on you. Don't think tht wht others think does not matter, it matters. So wht are you waiting for? Forget about your "shyness", afraid to overdo or afraid wht others might say about you. Like my friend used to tell me, if you attend any event, make sure tht ppl are aware of your presence (highlight), make an impact (communicate), and try to meet & greet as many ppl as you can (mingle). Remember, leadership can be learned, if you listen to a story, you hear a story, if you watch it, you can feel, if you read it, you can imagine, if you do it, you'll remember...

Game over



Of course hgh risk would produce high return, but the other end of the possibility is big lost. Looning at sime darby, young leaders have bigger risk appetite, hence they are more willing to take higher risk. But not not other ppl expenses of course. Leaders must also think tht his role is not only to make profit but to ensure long term sustainability. How to inculcate tht if all leaders are young, on short term contract. Like ot or not they'll focus on short term gain, high risk high retern on short basis too. Wow, this is serious...hope it's not gonna be "game over" too soon.... C'mon guys (leaders), I know you can do it...get us out of ths sh¥t asap pls...huhu

Persiapan kita

Ada tak org yg bangun pagi, bersiap2 utk pi kerja dan gerak pagi2 tu bersiap sedia awal2 utk tlg org lain? Sbg contoh sediakan utk tlg org yg kehabisan petrol otw ke pejabat, sedia utk bantu org yg tak dikenali utk tukarkan tayar yg pancit dsb. Maaf aku tak bersedia, panas nnt berpeluh. Leceh pagi2 dah berpeluh, sure sampai ofis berbau baik punya...hehe. Tapi kalau ada org cam ni aku salute. Hati lu mmg baik geng, I support u. Aku ada mengenali kwn yg mcm ni dulu, sentiasa bersedia nk tlg org walaupun dia penat. Mula2 tu aku marah gak sebab mcm kena buli ja (kalau awek cun yg minta tlg tu lain la kan...hehe), tapi lama2 aku faham. Murninya hati dia. Aku terkasima. Tapui di manakah dia skrg ni? Zabidi Omar, di manakah kau?

Larry's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures tacked to a bulletin board of the 10 most wanted criminals. Larry asked,"Why didn't you keep him when you took his picture ? "







Little Larry attended a horse auction with his father. He watched as his father moved from horse to horse, running his hands up and down the horse's legs and rump, and chest. After a few minutes, Larry asked, 'Dad, why are you doing that?' His father replied, 'Because when I'm buying horses, I have to make sure that they are healthy and in good shape before I buy. Larry, looking worried, said, 'Dad, I think the UPS guy wants to buy Mom ....'

Aku dah berniat nk kurangkan story yg tak bagus dan hampeh ni, so may be posting kat sinipun makin kurang. Skrg kena think positive je. Fikirkan yg baik2...hehe. Lagipun hari ni hari khamis, esok jumaat, so kena la buat baik2. Betul tak? Tapi kalau nk kata semuanya baik2 belaka tipu la tu. Tapi seronok baca posting dan komen fb bik mama, hehehe. Tu la bila dah jadi public figure, macam2 la, ada yg suka ada yg kutuk. Tapi bnyk yg aku jumpa dok kutuk ja la dia tu. Hmm...moga2 dia cepat sedar dari lamunan & berubah menjadi yg terbaik, demi agama, bangsa & negara...

Now u hv to ask wht u can do for the company, not wht the company can do for u...
Everyone has to ask himself or herself wht u can do to help the company better. No matter wht the condition of the company, u need to individually contribute the best to the company tht u r working with. You have to be passionate, work your best to deliver ur task, don't gossip, only focus on ur job, help others to deliver if the need so and try to save the company's cost as much as possible. You hv to act like the company is yours. If everyone work as if the company is theirs, and work with full of passion and determination, the company will surely survive any obstacles. How to achieve tht? Spiritual knowledge and understanding is very important, no matter wht religion. None of the religions teach its followers to do wrong or bad thgs. If everybody follow the right path, the company and everyone working with the company will be successful, now and in the future.

Generation Gap




Nowadays, there're a few generations working togather within an organization. The question is how those generations can work togather? The young generation thinks tht they know better bucause they graduated from the top universities. They concur internet & hence huge infomation & knowledge avaiable in the internet. Old generation is not internet savy, they only have past experience tht has already expired. The thg is tht both has a role to play and it would be great if the two generations combine their effort. Of course young ppl have knowledge and huge information, however they are lack of on the ground experience. Furthermore they don't have patient and keen to take high risk. Old ppl has more patient, more wisdom and huge experience on the ground. The two generations (or more) need to work togather to achieve better. CEO needs to understand better the advantages and disadvantages of each generation and make better use of their knowledge, experience and passion to deliver the best.

Best Employee Award




Best employee award is good to motivate staff. But most importantly it must be delivered on time. Employers normally wait until it's too late simply to get top mgmt attendance, however the "feel" might not be there if it's too late. Staff might fell tht the employers are not serious. They want to see honesty and the employer must also be sincere to honour the staff.
In time delivery of the award is the best, no matter wht the prize is.

HR Transformation





Wht do you want to transform in HR? Does HR need to be transformed? Surely yes. HR need to embark more on self-service, provide more online apps for staff and empower the managers. HR can contribute in the cost saving & efficiency initiatives by promoting those plans. Of course you need to identify the processes involved, invest in the online apps and communicate. Non-value add processes shd be made online & processes oriented activities can be empowered to line managers. If these are done, HR can focus on activities tht requires human touch & wht machine or computers cannot do.

Kereta, Warga Asing & LHDN

Aku lalu depan sebuah apartment pencakar langit baru2 ni di KL, mak ai, kereta yg parking terjeluak sampai keluar, di tepi2 bahu jalan kiri & kanan penuh dgn kereta. Kaya2nya rakyat mesia la ni ek? Ni sure satu apartmen ada 2-3 biji kereta ni. Alhamdulillah mesia dah kaya & makmur. Kaya juga la warga asing yg berniaga di tepi2 jalan tu. Dah la org bayar cash, no hutang, income tax pun tak yah nk bayar...amboi, sedap la korang ni. Dkt dgn bangunan CIMB & Sogo tu kalau malam2 sure penuh dgn kereta tolak jual steamboat ke apa...ramai betul org membeli. Rasanya biz cawangan ni, apa lah resipi dia sampai ramai org dok kerumun beli/makan. Tak pa, sama2lah kita menikmati rezeki yg dikurniakan Allah, jgn buat hal dah. Kpd LHDN tu, kalau bleh ronda2 chk tngk income diorg ni berapa semalam, bagus gak. Kalau agak2 dah layak bayar cukai tu, apa lagi....hehe

Cost savings



Nowadays HR has to do a lot of thgs beyond HR roles. Tht's the sign of how important HR is in an organization. Finance may be can cut cost & busget but how to convince staff to participate? HR needs to do subtle. communications with the staff to persuade them to join the initiatives. The best if the ideas come from the staff. They will be more committed to implement the initiatives if those are their own ideas. it also means tht they are ready to implement the initiatives willingly. The communication must also explain the cause & effect so tht everybody understands well. Any communication must not be a force, it must come from the heart... Sounds easy but hard to do...

Why makes easy thg so difficult?




Ppl like to design & develop processes. Processes are good. They make everyone in order, direct ppl to the right path etc. But why make it so diff? In HR, ppl don't wanna wait. When designing HR processes, keep it simple, straight to the point & the only thg to make sure is tht it must follow the law of the land. Tht's all. HR must be customer focus. Wht customers want is HR job to deliver. Ppl appreciate simplicity & efficiency. So pls consider ths when you design any HR processes.

Complacency

Nowadays people do not work for loyalty anymore. If you treat them well, they will stay. Even so, of they get better offer outside, they will jump. There is no loyalty anymore, not like when we were influenced by Japanese and British long long time ago. Even Japanese companies do not value loyalty anymore. But do you engage people? Even though nowadays employees do not stay for a very long with one company, but when they are working, they are engaged with the company. Some people say that employees who job hops are more loyal than wh stays. Why? Because they really work when they are on board. They work fast, do not mind to change and they deliver as per their KPIs. But employees who stay with a company for a long time would feel complacent and relax. They know all the tricks and they normally do not prefer any change in the organization. Is tht true? There are some truth in the statement. Not all but there are some employees who would do tht. It's hard to change them because they claim tht as their territory. Only when thgs get worst then they will be panic. Hope it is not too late when tht happen...

Employee Engagement



One of my GMs mentioned just now tht wht we did now individually as an employee would determine the survival of the company for the nxt 20 yrs. His father worked for the company. His grandfather also was an employee of the company years ago. We have 3 generations and the GM is the 3rd generation who works for the company. I can understand the sentimental value when he said tht. He's talking about loyalty and working with the same company from generation to generation.

How do we engage our employee? How do we get them to be loyal to us? (1) Leaders must set examples first for others to follow. If you want to introduce cost cutting, cut your own budget first. Reduce some personal expenses tht's claimable to the company. Reduce some benefits tht you have been enjoying when there is no cost cutting initiatives in place. 2) communicate with honesty to the employees. Make known wht is happening, wht shd be done, wht has been done etc.

Employees must believe and they must see for themselves all initiatives taken by the management. They must appreciate the situation before they decide to get involve, be engaged. And the key work is honesty and leadership examples. Don't just say it, do it...

Talent selection



Talent is critically important in a growing company. It's more critical to select the right talent so tht investment made on these selected employees are worthwhile. How to select the right talent then? A talent must meet the company's culture & behaviour. These are the utmost important criterion. If they don't fit to to culture, others will not be able accept them, and they somehow will leave the company eventually. Talents must also qualify top & consistant performance throughout. They must be able to perform wherever they are. They must always stand out as compared to others. And finally they must have the leadership quality & potential to grow. You don't want to develop a person with high performance & perfectly culture fit within an organization but he or she is without potential to be developed as a leader, do you? Because a staff with that criterion is good at wht he or she is doing. If you move him or her up, she'lll fail miserably. For instant, a good salesman does not mean he or she can be a good sales manager. The first job requires skill, and the second requires leadership competencies. Both are human relation skill but woth different focus. One with the ability to negotiate & convince others and the other is managing other humanbeeing within your organization. A person with all those qualities is a talent, good & consistant performers, good culture fit as well as able to lead others. Employees with these qualities are hard to find. If you found one, take really good care of them, treat them well, develop them, expose them, promote them and give them more responsibilities. They will not leave and they will be your potential future leaders.

Reducing social gap between employees and the management




Why is it important to reduce the gap between employees and the mgmt? Is is necessary? Wht would be the benefits? Nowadays employees are more open and direct. They are not like it used to be 10 or 20 yrs ago. Last time, we were so influenced by the British, so the employer-employee relationship is more like master-servant kind of relationship. However, time has changed. The new generation doesn't buy the idea anymore. They want equality and respect. May be not in term of pay & benefits but in term of relationship. Leaders in organization must go down and meet their staff. In politics, they are called "grassroots". At workplace, if leaders can spend some time to listen to their employees, they will gain more respect and loyalty from the employees. It would be easier then to implement anythg even if some of the decisions are not very popular. It's not so much like politics within an organization, but more of understanding, respect & care tht's important to the employees. So treat your employees well & they will work for you unconditionally.

Chapter 5 - Aku Keliru

"Hello...," bunyi suara dihujung talian handphone Farid. Eh, siapa pulak ni, nombornya aku kenal, tapi kenapa suaranya aku dah tak kenal. Aku bermimpikah atau benar-benar aku dah lupa suara si dia? Tak mungkin, aku kenal sangat suara tu, suara yang sepatutnya keluar dari nombor tu, bukan suara yang ku dengar sekarang ni, suaranya agak matang, perempuan yang agak berumur. Suara yang aku tunggu itu amat merdu, manja. Aku suka suara yang manja, tapi tak mengada-mengada. Dia amat sopan. Tapi kenapa orang lain yang menelefon menggunakan nombor dia? Farid keliru. "Hello, En Farid kah ini? Minta maaf, saya dari Hospital Columbia Asia. Saya buat panggilan dari telefon kawan encik. Dia kemalangan." Terhenti rasanya jantung Farid apabila mendengar suara di sebalik handphonenya itu. Ya Allah, apa dah jadi ni? Kenapa Norly terlibat dengan kemalangan? Terukkah dia? Bagaimanakah kaedaannya sekarang? Farid panik, terasa lemas seketika. "Hello, encik...," bunyi suara di handphonenya memanggil. Farid pantas tersedar dari lamunan, dia menjawab. "Ya, saya datang sekarang." Farid terus mencapai kunci kereta Perodua Myvinya dan berkejar keluar. Farid baru saja membeli Perodua Myvinya itu dua bulan yang lalu. Farid ke bilik pameran Perodua di Balakong bersama-sama dengan Norly. Farid nak Norly yang pilih warna kerata Myvi yang nak dibelinya. Farid suka warna hitam sebenarnya, tapi Norly inginkan warna putih, bersih dan suci katanya. Farid menurutkan sahaja. Dia terlalu sayangkan Norly sebenarnya. Kalau boleh dia nak sediakan semuanya untuk Norly sebelum dia melamar Norly untuk menjadi permaisurinya. Tapi kini Norly terlantar di Hospital, kemalangan. Ya Allah, bagaimanalah keadaan Norly? Farid bergegas ke hospital.

Developing Your Ownself

You have a steady job already. They pay is not bad. Every year you receive your increment, bonus etc. There are times when the company is not making tht good and there's no bonus and only with little increment, but you still have a job. Then the company starts to offer Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) package to the staff. The HR policies are getting tougher and tougher. Little mistakes and flat performance are considered misconduct. What should you do? Stay on or find a new job? But then this question comes into your mind, "what else can you do other than wht you are doing now, with current company..?" Man, tht's bad news. You shd start thinking ahead and use some of your savings to develop yourself now and then. You can't really depend on your company to develop you. The best tht the company can do is providing skill training. If you are lucky the company might send you to further your education, but you have to serve some odd years to pay back for its investment in you. Lucky if tht's what you want. And lucky if tht knowledge can be applied or marketable outside. But you have the choice to do it on your own, why wait? Now the question is wht shd be your focus of study? Of course the most important thg is the course tht you decide to take must be marketable in the future. Second it shd offer better pay than wht you are currently getting. Third is your interest, you must be interested in the area of study, because tht might be your nxt career.

There are a few suggestions tht I think might be usefull in selecting the type of course. A friend of mine who are already at the age of 53 just registered for LLB degree. I asked him why? He said lawyer has no retirement age. You may work as long as you want and retire at any age you prefer. There are a few other professions tht there might be no age limit to it, ie; lecturer, architecture, doctor or pharmacist. You can't be doctor or pharmacist or architecture at tht age. But you can learn to be a lawyer. Well, you can also be a lecturer if you want but you need a PhD or DBA to qualify for tht job. I'm in HR, and I'm considering LLB as my next course to pursue. Before tht I'm also planning to take my HR professional certification course from SHRM to get better recognition. I'd like to take professional course in Company Secretary but abundant tht idea when I was no longer doing secretarial job. Btw tht's also a good profession to consider.

So don't think too long, act now...

Managing Talent & Move Faster

Once you have identified talents within the company, you need to plan for their career path & development. Talents valued self development, through lateral transfer or promotion. They do not want to do the same thg for years. Maximum they can take it is only 3 years, but some talents might get boared easily, ie; less than one year. So how to manage them and get them occupied? The managers need to plan for activities and development program for them internally, with or without HR a simple plan can be developed. You can do tht and retain those talents for years within your department or lose them. Either way, you have to react. Managers have to act not only as managers but also mentors to them. Simple activities would be to throw them into new project, get them involved in drafting new strategy, coming up with new product, or letting them involved in assisting others esp new comers to adopt to the new environment at your department. The idea is to keep them busy and get them to explore and learn new thgs. They can manage their normal chores while doing tht, don't worry. Tht's why they are talents. They objectives are to make them involved in creative thinking, new products or projects, asissting others and get thgs done faster.



Try this...and you'll see them around for a while longer before they get bored. Move fast...

Chapter 4 - Retak Menanti Belah

Farid keresahan. Kalau masuk hari esok, dah 3 hari dia tak call Norly. Berdosa tu kalau tak menegur kawan melebihi tiga hari. Farid melihat ke arah handphonenya. Diangkatnya handphone Sony Erisscon yang baru dibelinya sebulan. Kualiti gambarnya sangat cantik. Ada 3G dan wifi, boleh la mengakses ke facebook pada bila-bila masa. Dengan kualiti gambar yg sangat jelas dengan 12MP, bolehlah Farid memuatnaik terus gambar-gambar yang diambil ke dalam facebooknya. Handphone tu Norly yang pilih. Barulah nampak bergaya bila di pejabat nanti, kata-kata Norly tu masih terngiang-ngiang di telinganya. Disebabkan handphone ni juga la Norly memarahinya tempohari, merajuk konon. Farid membelek-belek skrin Sony Ericsson, kalau-kalau Norly ada termiscall atau menghantar sms. Kosong. Hanya mesej daripada Celcom memaklumkan tempohsah prepaidnya hampir tamat sehari sahaja lagi. Effisyen sungguh syarikat telekomunikasi milik Axiata ni, terdetik dibenak Farid.

Kenapa Norly tak call aku ni? Takkan disebabkan gambar yg aku muatnaik ke facebook tu pun boleh menjadi isu besar. Ambil gambar saja, bukannya berpeluk-pelukan pun. Ceteknya fikiran Norly, detik Farid. Cemburu sangat, sebelum ni tak pernah pun Norly marah-marah sampai begini. Besar sangatkah kesalahannya mengambil gambar tu? Lagipun bukan aku yang beriya-iya nak ambil gambar tu. Si Sofia yang gedik nak bergambar dengan aku. Tapi comel jugak gambar tu, hehe...Farid ketawa kecil bila mengenangkan kisah dia bergambar dengan Sofia di pejabat tempohari. Tapi Sofia tu bukannya apa pun, dia macam adik-adik aku saja, nakal dan ceria.

Farid call lah Norly tu. Orang perempuan memang macam tu, suka merajuk, suka dipujuk, kata Kak Amina, senior Farid di sekolah dulu merangkap kakak angkatnya. Farid tidak punya kakak. Dia anak yg sulong. Adik2nya semuanya lelaki. Dia tak pandai nak melayan hati wanita. Kak Amina lah yang menjadi rujukannya apabila dia menghadapi masalah dengan teman wanita selama ini. Kak Amina telah berumahtangga dan mempunyai 2 orang anak. Kebetulan Kak Amina berkahwin dengan rakan sekerja Farid, Harun. Selalu juga Harun dan Kak Amina menjemput Farid untuk makan malam di rumah mereka. Mereka dah macam adik beradik. Anak-anak Harun dan Kak Amina juga amat rapat dengan Farid.

Farid sangat sukakan budak-budak. Mungkin sebab itulah kanak-kanak pun sukakan Farid. Kalau Farid rindukan zaman kanak-kanak adik-adiknya, anak-anak Harun dan Kak Amina lah yang mengubat rindunya.

Farid tersentak dari lamunan, bunyi handphone tanda ada mesej baru sahaja masuk. Siapakah gerangan yang menghantar mesej di kala Farid sedang memendam rasa ni. Harap-harap mesej daripada Norly. Cepat Farid menyambar handphonenya dan membuka inbox pada skrin handphone Sony Ericsson. Ala, mesej daripada Kak Amina, apalah yang Kak Amina nak tengahari Sabtu ni? Farid membaca mesej yang dihantar oleh Kak Amina kepadanya yang berbunyi, "Akak nampak kereta Norly kat parking Jusco Cheras Selatan ni, kau pun ada sini juga ke? Anak-anak akak ajak tengok wayang. Nak ikut?".

Ish, apa Norly buat kat Jusco tu? Dengan siapa dia ke sana? Takkan di ke sana sorang-sorang kot. Mungkin dia keluar dengan teman-teman wanita dia kot. Atau dia dah ke sana dengan teman lelaki baru ke? Aduh, sakitnya kepala aku, terkeluar dari mulut Farid sambil dia memicit-micoit kepalanya. Apa harus aku buat ni? Macamana nak jawab mesej Kak Amina ni? Aduh, sakitnya kepala aku, fikir Farid sambil mundar mandir di ruang tamu rumah sewaannya di Taman Tun Hussain tak semena-mena. Rakan serumahnya telah awal-awal keluar samada ke pejabat, shopping atau dating dengan teman wanita masing-masing.

Telah tiga tahun Farid tinggal di situ. Suasananya aman dan tenteram membuatkan Farid jatuh cinta dengan taman perumahan tu. Tak ramai orang bujang yang menyewa di situ, kebanyakkannya kelamin, termasuklah Harun dan Kak Amina. Merekalah yang membantunya mencarikan rumah di situ. Senang nak membeli belah dan makan, banyak restoran dan kedai di sekitar taman, kata Harun kepadanya dulu. Saya ikut je lah Harun, lagipun saya bukannya tahu sangat KL ni, maklumlah baru berpindah ke sini, Farid memberi jaminan kepada Harun. Lagipun mudah baginya jika ada apa-apa masalah kerana Harun dan Kak Amina pun tinggal di taman yang sama. Maklumlah, keluarga jauh nun di utara sana. Kalau sakit demam kurang-kurang boleh lah nak minta bantuan Harun dan Kak Amina fikirnya. Kak Amina pun bukannya orang lain, kakak angkatnya sejak tingkatan tiga di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Badlishah dulu di Kulim lagi. Keluarga Kak Amina di Kulim pun mengenalinya. Mereka amat akrab lagi dan Harun pun tak kisah.

Tiba-tiba Farid dikejutkan oleh deringan nyaring handphone Sony Ericssonnya. Eh, siapalah pulak yang nak menghubungi aku tengahari Sabtu ni? Jangan-jangan Kak Amina nak minta kepastian samada aku berada di Jusco Cheras Selatan bersama-sama dengan Norly, fikir Farid. Apa aku nak jawab ni? Ah, bagitahu perkara sebenarlah. Pantas Farid mencapai handphonenya dari atas meja. "Assalamualaikum, Kak, Farid ni...," pantas Farid menyapa di handphone. "Mualaikum Salam," terdengar suara membalas salamnya. Tapi itu bukan suara Kak Amina. Suara tu pernah didengarinya sebelum ini. Farid terkedu, kelu. Suasana hening seketika, tiada suara kedengaran. Sepi.

Chapter 3 - Norly Merajuk

Norly berjalan seorang diri di Jusco Cheras Selatan melayan kekosongan dalam diri. Elok juga untuk menghilangkan kerunsingan ni, daripada duduk sorang-sorang di dalam bilik baik juga datang ke sini. Boleh juga shopping atau setidak-tidaknya window shopping. Dapat juga hilangkan kebosanan dan kerungsingan dalam diri. Sejak akhir-akhir ni Norly agak keresahan. Duduk tak kena berdiri pun tak kena. Fikirannya melayang-layang. Apa yang difikarkan pun tak tahu. Yang pasti Farid dah tiga hari tak menghubunginya.

Setidak-tidaknya sms la, bukannya mahalpun. Kalau dah daftar pakej family & friends dengan Celcom tu, sms cuma satu sen sahaja. Takkan tu pun tak mampu, haish... Ataupun dia tak daftarpun aku dalam pakej tu, hmm...terdetik di hati Norly, amarahnya kembali memuncak. Takkan lah aku nak call dia dulu, dia yang bersalah. Dia yang sengaja ambil gambar dengan rakan sepejabat dia yang seksi tu. Dah tu dimuatnaiknya ke dalam facebook. Hati mana yang tak terguris? Hati mana yang tak terhiris? Kalau dia dah suka kan sangat minah seksi tu, bagitau la aku. Ini tidak, dia seolah-olah sengaja nak menyakitkan hati aku, Norly merungut di dalam hati. Hati dan perasaan Norly amat terluka.

Dah la buat hal, tapi tak call minta maaf pulak tu. Atau Farid tak sihat kot? Atau dia takut nak call selepas Norly marah-marah dan hempas telefon tempohari. Patutkah Norly marah macam tu? Norly bukannya tunang atau isteri Farid, cuma kawan, kawan istimewa. Entahlah, mungkin itu yang Norly rasa, tapi bagi Farid biasa sahaja. Norly buntu.

Entah berapa jam Norly berlegar-legar di Jusco Cheras Selatan ni. Diapun tak perasan dan tak ingat waktu, mungkin terlalu melayan perasaan. Dari Jusco ni kosong tadi hinggalah ramainya orang tidak terkata. Dah berapa kali Norly berpusing-pusing pun dia dah tak ingat. Jurujual tu pun dah hafal muka Norly yang moyok tu. Jurujual pun tak berani nak dekat, atau malas nak layan sebab dah berpusing banyak kali tapi tak beli apa-apa pun. Norly benar-benar melayan perasaan.

Setelah terasa lenguh di kaki, akhirnya Norly duduk di kerusi yang disediakan oleh pihak pengurusan Jusco. Bagus juga Jusco ni, sediakan kerusi begini. Dapat juga orang ramai yang shopping atau menunggu famili shopping duduk berehat, menghilangkan letih di kaki setelah puas berjalan dan membeli belah.

Tiba-tiba kedengaran bunyi azan daripada handbag yang Norly bawa. Rupa-rupanya dah masuk waktu solat zohor. Maklumlah handphone yang Farid hadiahkan Norly tempohari dilengkapi dengan aplikasi azan. Farid seorang yang agak Islamik, walaupun dia nampak bersahaja. Kalau keluar datingpun, bila masuk waktu Farid akan meminta izin untuk singgah ke surau atau masjid untuk bersolat. Kadang-kadang bila masuk waktu, kadang-kadang di tengah waktu, tapi yang pasti Farid akan menunaikan tanggungjawabnya pada Allah. Itu antara ciri-ciri yang ada pada Farid yang dapat menawan hati Norly. Tersenyum Norly apabila mengingati saat-saat mereka berdua berdating. Farid juga tidak pernah cuba memegang tangannya apabila mereka keluar dating. Mungkin dia menjaga tatasusila dan halal-haram dalam perhubungan lelaki perempuan bukan muhrim. Tapi Farid juga tidak pernah menyatakan cintanya secara langsung kepada Norly. Dia tak pernah declare cintanya kepada Norly. Apakah benar Farid menyintai Norly? Atau adakah dia hanya sekadar kawan biasa? Aduh, Norly bertepuk sebelah tangan kah? Berat kepala Norly memikirkannya.

Kebiasaannya telah hampir setahun Norly keluar berjalan-jalan di hujung minggu bersama Farid. Farid sering sahaja mengajaknya menemani dia ke mana-mana. Malahan jika ada jemputan kenduri kahwin kawan-kawan Farid pun, Farid akan mengajak Norly menemaninya. Hampir kesemua kawan Farid telah Norly kenali. Dari kawan sekolah, universiti sehinggalah rakan sekerja yg rapat dengan Farid. Kawan-kawan Farid juga seolah-olah telah merestui perhubungan mereka. Tapi Farid belum pernah memperkenalkan Norly kepada ibubapanya. Adakah benar Norly pilihan hati Farid? Hanya Farid yang mampu menjawabnya. Tapi yang pasti Norly telah lama jatuh hati pada Farid. Tapi takkan lah Norly yang nak mulakan dulu. Segalanya terletak di tangan Farid sekarang. Tapi adakah segalanya akan berakhir sekarang? Norly tak mampu untuk menaggung segalanya. Dia amat sayangkan Farid. Dia amat cemburu, tapi bukankah cemburu itu tandanya sayang? Atau adakah dia cemburu buta? Mungkin Farid tak suka gadis yang kuat cemburu. Tapi kena Farid membisu tanpa berita? Kenapa Farid sanggup membuat Norly merana sebegini?
Astarfirullah-hulazim...beristifar seketika Norly. Terjaga dia dari lamunan dek bunyi tangisan anak kecik di sebelah bersama bapanya. Mungkin dah penat atau resah menunggu sang ibu bershopping. Mungkin lapar agaknya tu. Kesiannya anak kecil ni. Bapanya memujuknya dengan sabar.

Adakah Farid juga akan sabar menunggu aku? Berdetik hati Norly. Alamak, dah pukul 3.30 petang, aku belum solat lagi ni. Bagus juga Jusco Cheras Selatan ni menyediakan surau yang selesa untuk para pelanggannya. Norly bingkas bangun menuju ke surau, sendirian.

Najib's budget

Apa la punya budget ni, seluar dalam pun nk masuk dlm bajet gak ka? Sampai hand bag pun mau cerita dlm bajet tahun ni, bravo najib...hehe. Confirm bajet ni bkn bajet pilihanraya, tapi bajet utk shopping. Best gak la henfon dah tak kena tax, kalau tak pun berlambak gak henfon kapal selam kt market. Bleh la eden merasa iphone nxt year...thnx najib. Tapi awat sikit sangat bonus pegawai kerajaan? RM500 dgn keadaan kt Malaysia hari ni seminggu je habis, tu dah kira bajet habis la tu. Kalau tak 2-3 hari dah settle. Blom beli seluar dalam & handbag lagi. Henfon jgn cerita la. Tapi one thg kalau perasan, LHDN dok review habis submission tahun2 dulu, ramai member2 yg dah kena, terus tolak gaji, beratus gak la sebulan. Yg naya nya some of them kena right before Raya. Pasrah je la...

Social Reengineering


In order for a company to implement culture change within the organization, a social reengineering is required. The question is what is social reengineering and how to implement a social reengineering for a company?

A company has its own culture. A matured organization has set of cuture and values for years. Why change? The answer is survival. Can a company maintain at status quo for years without any changes? Even Coca-cola has changed over the years. Shell also has changed its values from pure-profit orientation into a 'green' company.

Leaders in the organization must embraced the new culture first. They have to show the example, they might even have to change their way of life. Respect must be earned! No exception.

Change or social engineering must be implemented to address a crisis. If no crisis, employees will take it lightly. It'd be better if the crisis has direct impact on them and they can see the impact so immediate and in front of their eyes. For instance, customer's complaint or sales dropped or part of company's building collapsed etc. This is the best opportunity to address the desired culture and to drive the employees to work harder to achieve the company's objective. However, when the company achieved its desired target or it managed to come out of the crisis, if necessary the employees must be rewarded accordingly. When rewarding, while they are still in high spirit, the leaders of the company can reaffirn the new cultures within the staff and the process must be repeated to ensure it's embedded in each and every employee's "DNA".

When you manage to change the employee's culture form one level to another, and the result shows, social engineering is done (but not completed coz it's ongoing effort).

Integrity, TM & Vision 2020

Interesting lecture by mr hashim just now on integrity in TM, Malaysia's culture & vision 2020. it's a great presentation , straight to the point, and yet simple to understand. but the question is how to implement? it's a social re-engineering that we are talking about. How do we want to change people, everyone in Malaysia? how do we enforce the desired culture? it's difficult but not possible. somehow all leaders must play their role. the top must be the best example to follow....hmm, can we? haha.... but then, to change to a better person is for us to decide. whether others will follow suit is not our call. do your best, be a good example to others & try to influence, it's like dakwah. other method? enforcement...at least singapore achieved it's desired culture thru strict and continuous enforcement. there're bad and good thsg about enforcement but somehow it has developed & became the NDA of its citizen. i dont really like wht they did/implement but i have to admit tht it works. so how? hehe...

aku maafkan kamu...

Anythg tht ppl said if it's bad, took it as a joke/pratical or non...esp from fwens, jgn gaduh2 dah rede...hahaha. Wanna hv fun, enjoy life, meet fwens, make lots of new fwens, do good thgs & pray to Allah...kalau ada yg terkata, terkasar bahasa, buruk perbuatan...minta dimaafkan...setiap malam sblm tido maafkanlah semua kwn2 & umat manusia seluruhnya & doakan kesejahteraan utk kita & mereka, kawan mahupun yg tak nk berkwn dgn kita...semoga kita semua serta mereka mendapat hidayah & petunjuk dan diampunkan segala dosa, itu yg lebih afdal...yg penting berebut utk buat kebaikan, bkn kejahatan, berebut utk buat pahala, bkn dosa, berebut utk cari keberkatan, bkn kebatilan...ingatlah, kalau berniat utk kebaikanpun dah dpt pahala, tapi jika berniat kebatilan tapi tidak dilaksanakan tiadalah dosa...alangkah hebatnya motivasi Allah kpd kita. Knplah nk diberatkan fikiran dgn hasad dengki, berniat perkara2 yg tidak baik, akhirnya akn merosakkan jiwa kita, hati & fikiran, alangkahkah baiknya jika kita berniat baik, dpt pahala hanya dgn berniat, kalau dilaksanakan akn berlipat kali pahalanya, ianya dpt membersihkan hati & jiwa kita drpd perkara mungkar, sentiasa bersifat mulia, rendah diri, sedia membantu, bertolak ansur, sedia memaafkan...aku maafkan kamu...seronok & tenang bila jiwa dan tenteram, bkn jiwa kacau, suka & gembira jika bila tiada hasad & dengki, sujud & tawadduk bila segala amalan diterima Illahi, Alhamdulillah...

Bila lagi la driver2 kt mesia ni ni sedar dan insaf. Ingatlah tanggungjwb bawa org ramai tu besar, bnyk nyawa nk kena jaga. Ni sampai bas terbang, dahsyat...

Apapun takziah utk keluarga mangsa. Harap pihak berkuasa akn lebih tegas berhubung keselamatan org ramai.
